I loved this book probably because it is about my family. The author was able to bring to life the characters I lived with in such a way that I was taken back to my childhood. However, through Dave's eyes, I could see my childhood in a different light, one that made me appreciate the sacrifices my family made and how they were a product of their heritage and generation.
