Handbook of Treatment Planning in Radiation Oncology 9781617051975 Medicine Health Science Books Reviews
This book has few pictures and difficult navigation, some sites do not mention the fractions used..the figures are not of good quality, there are handbooks better than this one.I would not recommend this book.
this is ons of the best little manuals i have ever used, it is compact, user friendly and very complete at the same time, and a very good resource for understanding the material we need to do radiotherapy, i completely disagree with the previous reviewers in every sense who seems to me to have been looking at another text! this handbook is loaded with helpful images which are representative of how i want to think about doing planning, also the facts are bulleted in a very logical and readable way, i highly recommend this book to anyone who is doing their radiation training
This handbook fills a niche not addressed by the other handbooks available. The Roach handbook, for example, is quite useful as a quick reference for staging, general treatment approach, and seminal studies; however, it leaves much to be desired from the standpoint of the practical aspects of radiation treatment planning. In contrast, the Handbook of Treatment Planning in Radiation Oncology lives up to its title inasmuch as it fills this void very well. As such, I find that the combination of these two handbooks is extremely effective when addressing the vast majority of questions that arise on a daily basis. I highly recommend this combination to radiation oncology residents and young attendings who are interested in a highly portable (1 cm thick) source of treatment planning pearls.
This book deals with the radiotherapy from point of view of a hanbook. It's a good guide for rapid access to the matter.
